Celebrate Christ's resurrection with community, Pope says Easter Monday

Vatican City, Apr 2, 2018 / 05:25 am (CNA/EWTN News).- On Easter Monday, Pope Francis encouraged Christians to celebrate Easter with their community of family and friends, taking time to renew the brotherhood and sisterhood that is a fruit of the Lord’s resurrection.

“Today is a day of celebration and conviviality usually lived with the family, it is a day of the family. After celebrating Easter, we feel the need to reunite with our loved ones and with friends to party,” the Pope said April 2.

“We Christians believe and know that Christ’s resurrection is the true hope of the world, the hope that does not disappoint,” the Pope said April 1, Easter morning.

Pope Francis to have surgery for cataracts next year

“Jesus comes to serve us, and the signal that Jesus serves here today, at the Regina Coeli prison, is that he wanted to choose 12 of you, like the 12 apostles, to wash your feet,” the Pope said March 29.
