Like the magi, follow Christ's light, Pope Francis says

Vatican City, Jan 6, 2019 / 05:47 am (CNA/EWTN News).- To be clothed in the divine light of Christ, follow the example of the three magi, who put aside worldly power and success and rose to follow the star to Jesus, Pope Francis encouraged Sunday at Mass for Epiphany.

“We need to arise, to get up from our sedentary lives and prepare for a journey,” he said Jan. 6. “We also need to shine, to be clothed in God who is light, day by day, until we are fully clothed in Jesus.”

Argentine bishop at Holy See financial office investigated for sex abuse

Vatican City, Jan 4, 2019 / 10:40 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Bishop Gustavo Oscar Zanchetta, an Argentine native appointed to the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See in 2017, was accused last autumn of sexual abuse, the Holy See announced Friday.

Bishop Zanchetta had resigned as Bishop of Orán Aug. 1, 2017, slightly more than four years after his appointment there.

On Holy Family feast, Pope Francis offers advice for healing family wounds

“When there are problems in families, we assume that we are right and we close the door to others. Instead, one must think: ‘What does this person have?’ And marvel at this ‘good.’ This helps family unity,” Pope Francis said in his Angelus address Dec. 30.
